Salary: Starting Rate $23.50 p/h (with potential earnings of $33.00p/h once fully qualified)

Job Summary:
As a Skilled Labouer, the ideal candidate will have an interest in rebar work, understand the basics of a construction site, with a strong awareness for Health & Safety. You will be completing tasks that are set by your site supervisor. Everyday could be something new, making this role ideal for someone who is looking to learn and upskill.
For this role we require a minimum of 6 months experience and basic proficiency with entry level power tools (drills, saws etc.) You will need to supply basic hand tools (full list below) and (CSA approved) steel toed safety boots. We supply the PPE that you need to get started (hard hat, hi-vis vest.)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized construction site
  • Read blueprints and specifications to lay out work
  • Unload and position steel units for hoisting as needed
  • Install scaffolding, hoisting equipment, and rigging
  • Align and secure steel units in place by welding or bolting
  • Assemble and set up prefabricated metal structures
  • Dismantle structures and equipment when required
  • Handle and transport materials around the site
  • Use hand tools and basic power tools:
Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50lbs (23kg)
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Strong math proficiency
  • Welding experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 6 months of on-site construction experience
  • Advanced English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Ability to follow strict health and safety guidelines
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Have the following tools; Tool belt with hammer holster, rebar pliers, side cutters, tape measure, tie wire reel (that fits into your toolbelt, sharpie, pencil, hammer

Work Conditions:

This role may require you to work in all weather conditions, inside and outside. Locations of work may vary within the radius of your chosen location: Vancouver. Sourcing your own means of transportation to and from your working location will be required (the majority of our work-force use public transit with no issues!)

We schedule our workers on a 40 hour per week basis (Monday-Friday), with pay days falling bi-weekly on a Friday. Shift times may vary, however our usual shift is 7:30am-3:30pm (8 hours). Overtime may be required on occasion and will be paid within the provincial employee pay legislation guidelines.
