REPORTS TO: Purchaser
LOCATION: Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in business administration, purchasing or related field
  • Two years of relevant work experience in a purchasing environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Suite products including Excel
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, analytical skills, strategic-thinking, and resourcefulness, and the ability to prioritize the completion of work assignments to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in an independent working environment
  • Demonstrated tact and judgement when handling confidential/sensitive information
  • Communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel between County offices and facilities, and attend meetings as required
  • Demonstrated safe working practices
Assets:
  • Ontario Public Buyers Association (OPBA) courses
  • Knowledge of trade agreements
  • Experience working with the bidding software - Bids and Tenders
Duties:
  • Facilitate contract management - create, process, and update contract files, expediting when required
  • Lead multiyear projects through the co-operative purchasing groups
  • Assist various departments with preparing documents for release through our bidding platform
  • Assist various departments with various Procurement documents
  • Update internal databases with new contracts, contract changes and required documentation from suppliers
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Purchasing group
  • Data entry, filing and other administrative duties as required in the purchasing group
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to utilize and maintain GovDeals to dispose of assets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary: $64,665 - $75,657 (Job Grade 4 – Under Review) 35 hours per week
