Based in Red Deer, this role involves servicing an existing customer base, identifying and securing new clients, and uncovering new market and product opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Expansion and Client Acquisition:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory to increase market share.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for existing and potential customers, ensuring high-quality service and satisfaction.
- Understand clients' needs and provide tailored solutions by leveraging comprehensive product knowledge.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit short- and long-range sales plans, utilizing available marketing programs to reach designated targets.
- Monitor project statuses and risk exposure, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Vendor and Industry Collaboration:
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and industry consultants to stay informed about new products and distribution opportunities.
- Participate in discussions regarding product development and market trends.
- Market Development:
- Identify potential new product lines and opportunities to enhance the company's market presence and brand recognition.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and launch new offerings.
- Quotation and Bid Management:
- Compile and provide accurate estimates, bid packages, and customer quotes based on requirements, RFPs, RFQs, and architectural/engineering drawings.
- Ensure timely and competitive pricing strategies.
- Project Coordination and Risk Analysis:
- Manage and coordinate project activities, presenting regular status updates and risk analyses to senior management.
- Implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.
- Internal Support and Training:
- Serve as a resource to branch staff, providing guidance on customer service best practices and product knowledge.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
- Sales Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports detailing performance metrics, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Utilize CRM software to maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the construction and industrial distribution vertical, with waterworks industry experience being a very strong asset.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (driver's abstract required).
