Responsibilities:
- The main responsibility of this resource is to provide the services of a full stack Oracle developer specialized in APEX, PL/SQL with some exposure to the other Oracle development tools being used in these applications such as ODI and the relational database.
- Works in partnership with clients, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems, work to improve structure and efficiency of an organization s I&IT systems.
- The I&IT Consultant may be used to provide strategic guidance to organizations with regard to Information Management & IT technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT.
- Provides subject matter expertise in their field and highly expert technical assistance.
- Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of a specific deliverable.
- Provide the quality assurance/quality control of specific deliverables.
- Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Develops processes and procedures for implementing deliverables.
- Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, implementation plans, etc.
- Works with clients to define the scope of a project and to determine requirements
- Defines software, hardware and network requirements.
- Analyzes I&IT requirements giving independent and objective advice on the use of I&IT.
- Designs, tests, installs and monitors new systems and develops solutions and implementation of new systems.
- Familiar with change-management principles and methodology.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.

- Demonstrated experience installing, configuring and developing applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX) with a minimum of 7 years of solid hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing APEX applications using Java/JavaScript and similar development tools to extend basic functionality.
- Demonstrated experience (at least one upgrade) upgrading Oracle APEX including involvement in migrating APEX applications across operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience performing the basic functions of a database administrator.
- Demonstrated advanced level of knowledge of creating PL/SQL procedures, functions and packages with at least 10 years experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of techniques for optimizing the performance of SQL queries DML and APEX applications.
- Demonstrated experience integrating APEX with ODI.
- Demonstrated experience using BI Publisher reports in conjunction with APEX.
- Experience with at least one APEX application that is integrated with OAM (Oracle Single Sign-On).
- Demonstrated experience working with applications that perform transfer payments or similar financial transaction management functionality.
- Demonstrated experience working with applications that allocate funding.
- More than 2 years experience working with APEX in a Hyperion Planning or Essbase environment ideally with APEX being used to manage the metadata.
- Demonstrated experience providing and delivering Oracle-based solutions that are GO-ITS compliance and familiarity with GO-ITS standards and processes would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with public sector financial applications, ideally in a Hyperion Planning context and ideally related to the education or post-secondary education sectors would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with small teams and working directly with clients.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to knowledge transfer and train client staff.
