The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is the primary contact for people leaders and employees at Sun peaks Resort LLP and the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel LLP, ensuring alignment with its vision, values, mission, and purpose. Acting as a strategic partner, the HRBP provides expert guidance on HR matters through coaching, facilitation, and coordination of services. They take a consultative solutions-focused approach to employee relations, supporting company goals. As part of the EEX/HR team, the HRBP also contributes to initiatives, projects, and events for both permanent and seasonal employees.
The HRBP must have a deep understanding of both the HR functions and the leadership team's operational needs. They provide strategic guidance to address HR challenges from a broad, systemic perspective. The HRBP is key to shaping HR practices that create a high performance, employee focused culture, promoting quality, empowerment, productivity, achievement, and ongoing workforce development.
Compensation Information: $73,000 to $75,000 per annum
Physical Requirement: Light (L) work activities involve handling loads of 5 kg but less than 10 kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:
- Degree in HR Management and/or Business Management, combined with a minimum of three years of recent experience in HR.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (e.g., a non-related degree / diploma and experience, in combination with a designation of CPHR, is an asset.
- Knowledge of BC labour laws and familiarity with legislation and requirements for hiring foreign workers.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a service orientation.
- Experience coaching and advising on all people related matters.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations:
- Advise managers on disciplinary matters, identify complex high-risk employee relations issues, and escalate to Directors when appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Business Partnership:
- Participate in one-on-one meetings with stakeholders and attend team meetings to stay connected to the business.
- Represent HR in weekly manager and operations meetings.
- Investigations:
- Advise and support leaders in conducting investigations following established guidelines, assisting with appropriate mitigation strategies based on findings.
- Facilitate meditation and conflict resolution to address workplace concerns.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify and address workplace challenges, providing coaching and facilitation expertise.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support the HR team in employee experience initiatives, including seasonal staff onboarding/orientation and staff appreciation events.
- Stay updated on employment law and immigration practices, collaborating with the Senior HR Business Partner for relevant portfolio matters.
- Identify and recommend new tools and technologies, manage adoption projects, and provide training for hiring managers and teams.
- Collaborate with the Director of Employee Experience, HR to refine employee programs based on feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
HR Business Partner Portfolio:
- Oversee employee programs and wellness initiatives.
- Manage EFAP accounts and maintain relationships.
- Organize and manage the Recognition Program.
