Position: Inventory Management Technician / Junior IT Support
Location: Markham, ON (IN-OFFICE FULL-TIME – LOCALS ONLY)
Start Date: April 2025
Employment Type: 3–6-month contractor opportunity with possible extension
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Role Overview:

We are seeking an Inventory Management Technician / Junior IT Support professional to manage IT assets, ensure seamless device deployment, and provide essential technical support. This role is critical to maintaining an organized IT environment, supporting end users, and ensuring accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • IT Asset Management: Oversee the entire IT asset lifecycle, including receiving, tracking, deploying, and retiring hardware.

  • Device Setup & Deployment: Image and configure PCs for new hires, ensuring they are properly prepared for end users.

  • Shipping & Receiving: Package, label, and ship IT assets to their designated locations.

  • Asset Tracking: Maintain up-to-date inventory records within the asset management system.

  • Sanitization & Disposal: Ensure hardware is properly sanitized before disposal in compliance with company policies.

  • Technical Support: Provide in-person or remote assistance for hardware and software troubleshooting.

  • System Upgrades & Maintenance: Assist in modifying, upgrading, or enhancing existing IT assets as needed.

  • Documentation: Ensure all activities, updates, and changes are accurately documented according to IT standards.

  • Cycle Counts & Audits: Conduct regular inventory audits, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 2-4 years of experience in a warehouse environment with at least 1 year in inventory analysis and cycle counting.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and IT asset management systems.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management software, shipping software, and IT ticketing systems.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and handle physical inventory tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, managers, vendors, and clients.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SCCM, or similar IT service management tools.

  • Knowledge of various PC models, printers, and peripherals.

  • Prior experience in hardware sanitization and secure asset disposal.

  • Customer service skills with the ability to troubleshoot common technical issues.
