(https://www.enkel.ca/) We provide accounting and bookkeeping services for small-medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations (NPO). We couple cloud-based accounting technology with a team of CPAs and experienced bookkeepers to help business owners improve and manage their finance functions. It's our vision to be a partner to our clients by providing them with timely, accurate accounting and reporting that allows for insight and data to make better business decisions. We're seeking an Accounting Manager to help us deliver high-quality reporting to our growing Not-for-Profit client base. Accounting Manager: In this role, you will act as an internal technical guru to support clients with unique transactions and complex reporting requirements. You'll deliver on services for clients, coordinate with various teams (e.g., payroll, customer service, AP, etc.) and review work prepared by the team. Practically speaking, you will: * Maintain communication amongst team members, reprioritize as needed to meet deadlines for deliverables, and address any issues * Work with the Director of Service Delivery to create process for ongoing delivery of monthly statements to NPO clients * Review financial statements and reporting requirements for new clients, ensuring our processes meet their compliance needs * Review financial statements and bookkeeping prepared by Enkel's offshore delivery team in Noida, India * Participate in marketing initiatives (e.g., webinars, podcasts, etc.) for NPO clients * Assist NPO clients with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis * Attend client board meetings in person or remotely to present financial statements and participate in financial planning * Support sales in speaking to qualified leads as a subject matter expert for NPO's * Assist clients in preparing for year-end assurance engagements by preparing the PBC package and note disclosures * Understand NPO reporting standards and ensure our processes are adjusted to meet any changes, and manage year-end audit or review for NPO clients You'll be a great fit for this role if you're an early adopter of technology and are passionate about finding better, faster ways to work. Most of our staff work out of our Vancouver office, but if you're not local, you'll be fully set up to work remotely during core business hours with some flexibility as needed, depending on your time zone. We're a hybrid between a public accounting firm and an on-site finance team, so you'll get to work with a variety of clients and handle interesting challenges. Qualifications: * Accounting experience in public practice * Expertise in accounting standards, including fund accounting * Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite and Google Suite * Experience in a client-facing role * Experience working in or with not-for-profit organizations and understanding NPO accounting standards * Strong proficiency with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, Quickbooks) (an asset) * Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting * CPA designation strongly preferred How to Apply: Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
