Responsibilities:
- Provide support and performs on demand repairs and preventative maintenance for all manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor, maintain and calibrate pneumatic, electronic, and electrical equipment in areas such as the card assembly line.
- HVAC units for card line enclosure, building air compressor, in according with approved procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle mechanical and controls equipment for repair and maintenance work using hand and power tools.
- Read procedures, blueprints, and schematics to determine root cause of failures and problems with automation equipment including mechanical, pneumatics, Programmable Logic controllers (PLC), and servo control systems.
- Assess multiple process variables and their interactions and then provide a reasoned, rapid response to issues revealed by test results.
- Provide support to daily card production, Research and Development experiments.
- Provide support for potential future projects including existing equipment upgrades, new equipment, and validation activities.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to various groups affiliated with card manufacturing.
- Documentation of equipment maintenance activities in maintenance logs.
- Communicate equipment related issues with Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering.
- Assist in identifying the discrepancies and gaps in operating, maintenance procedures and drawings.
- Create consumables used in certain automated operations.
- Comply with documentation requirements to ensure equipment and production records are completed accurately.
- Electro-Mechanical or Electrical/Mechanical Technician Diploma and/or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with operation, assembly, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Flexibility to work overtime and on different shifts as required.
- Able to work in a noisy and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and take appropriate action as required.
- Flexibility to respond to a changing and evolving environment including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Adheres to change control protocols and maintenance procedures typical of medical device manufacturing settings.
