Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: York Region, ON
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000/year

Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team.
Position Description:
  • Collaborates with Product Engineering and suppliers on PFMEA and Supplier APQP activities.
  • Schedules and conducts launch reviews at Supplier locations.
  • Participates in APQP activities and prepares reports on Supplier launch status (e.g., Run at Rate, product capability)
  • Maintains quality records and documentation per Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Assists suppliers with troubleshooting and ensures timely PPAP and Run at Rate capability
  • Monitor and track Engineering changes related to Supplier products, ensuring adherence to policies (Documentation, FIFO, new parts control)
  • Evaluate suppliers and assess risks to support APQP CFT in sourcing new or carryover products.
  • Lead corrective actions at Supplier locations.
  • Frequent and flexible travel to supplier locations, including extended stays during launches or corrective actions.
  • Support suppliers in delivering engineering trial samples to meet design requirements.
  • Maintain QPF database, track corrective actions, and coordinate third-party containment as needed.
  • Oversee APQP/PPAP process at suppliers to ensure flawless launch and safe protocols.
  • Support initial launch activities, oversee run at rate, and review PPAP documentation.
  • Manage supplier rating system and drive continuous improvement through communication.
  • Follow office/work standards, policies, and IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 quality management standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • University degree/diploma or completion of career-related courses
  • 3-5 years of automotive auditing experience
  • Skilled in problem-solving methodologies
  • 3-5 years in a technical quality role
  • Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, root cause analysis, and DFSS
  • Proficient in Windows and Minitab with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work overtime and travel (local, international)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Nice to Have:
  • IATF Internal Auditor certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt or Red X certification preferred
