Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold-standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Remediation Consultant to join our team.

At Peter Lucas (located within Treaty 6 Territory and Homeland of the Metis), we offer a variety of work, professional development, and learning opportunities that come from working on diverse projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.

We are seeking an experienced Remediation Consultant to provide expert oversight and guidance on the remediation of slumped slopes and earth dyke construction activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising contractor work, mitigating project risks, ensuring quality control, and managing regulatory compliance. This role requires frequent on-site presence to conduct inspections, validate construction work, and ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation and supervision on power canal slumping remediation activities, including those performed by third-party contractors.
  • Mitigate project risks related to construction on earth dykes and slumped slopes by offering technical expertise and proactive risk management.
  • Be physically present on-site during construction activities to monitor progress and ensure the work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct spot check surveys and validate work and material quantities as claimed by contractors to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee quality control (QC) testing conducted by the contractor to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) inspections and verifications as per the project's inspection and testing plan (ITP).
  • Review and assess project submittals, including QC/QA reports, to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Monitor contractor performance to identify deviations or non-compliance with respect to issued regulatory permit conditions, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Prepare daily reports on project status, progress, and issues, and distribute these reports to relevant project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation is up to date and effectively communicated to stakeholders.

The consultant is to match the working hours and rotations of the site contractors. This could mean working days up to 12 hours in duration, and working as many as 12 days in a 14-day rotation, depending on the site contractor's work schedule

We appreciate all applicants' interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Wages are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Global reference checks may be conducted after the interview process.
