Position Title: Janitor

Department: Maintenance

Supervisors: Manufacturing Engineer

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, the janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the manufacturing, warehouse, offices and outside areas of the company property. You may be required to use various hazardous non/hazardous materials such as environmentally safe and chemical cleaning products.

Primary Responsibilities

Sweep, mop and scrub halls, floors and aisles in plant and warehouse areas
Collect waste and recycling throughout the facility to dispose of in appropriate outdoor bins/containers
Clean and sanitize all washrooms
Replenish cloth towels, hand soap and toilet tissue when required
Clean and sanitize cafeteria floors, counters, tables, microwaves and refrigerator
Wash walls and windows (interior) according to schedule
Keep janitor rooms neat and organized
Keep outside areas free of debris, report any issues such as tree limbs down etc.
Clear snow and ice from walkways
Routine physical activities and carrying light objects (less than 25 pounds
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Previous Janitorial experience an asset
Ability to read and understand Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) labels on products to understand applicable safety cautions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete daily cleaning tasks
Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc. when working outside
Flexible, dependable and reliable team player
