The Monitoring Surveyor Assistant supports the monitoring team in collecting, maintaining, and analyzing critical data to ensure structural safety and compliance with project specifications. This role requires strong organizational skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in active construction environments. Key Responsibilities
Support in Monitoring Activities:
- Assist Monitoring Surveyors in collecting data from Building Monitoring Points (BMPs), Surface Monitoring Points (SMPs), Ground Monitoring Points (GMPs), and Utility Monitoring Points (UMPs).
- Follow specific instructions to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data collection processes.
- Transport, clean, and store survey equipment, ensuring all tools remain in optimal condition.
- Perform routine equipment checks and assist with calibration under the guidance of Monitoring Surveyors.
- Follow safety protocols while working in active construction zones and public areas.
- Report any damaged or missing monitoring points, equipment, or benchmarks encountered during site visits.
- Work closely with the monitoring team to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
- Contribute to process improvement by suggesting methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in construction surveying, monitoring, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of surveying techniques and equipment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle various responsibilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on active construction sites.
- Physically fit to carry and manage survey equipment as needed.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a positive attitude toward assigned tasks.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
