Position Summary:The Case Aide is responsible for providing para-professional support services to social work staff in meeting the needs of clients. This may include, but is not limited to, supervising family visits and completing documentation as required; shopping for necessities for children in care; coordinating and / or providing transportation for clients for scheduled visits or appointments; filing / compiling data; other interventions / supports for clients, as required. Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to provide consultation to and work with other staff, agencies and professionals in the provision of services to children and their families.
  • Able to efficiently arrange, coordinate, and transport children and/or their families to various appointments.
  • Ability to Schedule casual workers, when necessary, and verify that all hours entered as worked by casual staff matches the hours scheduled for the purpose of generation of payroll.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Capable of maintaining Agency owned/leased vehicles on a regular basis.
  • Thorough knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a High School Graduation Diploma with minimum one year of experience working with children and adults, preferably in a social or human services setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, good judgement, and the skill and ability to engage therapeutically with all clients.
  • Proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office and database programs.

Required:
  • Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1000 000.00 Liability.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector check, Internal Records Check and Driver's Abstract.
  • The ability to work flexible hours. Occasional travel within the region is also required.
