Job Summary:

As a Laser Operator, you are responsible for operating laser cutting, engraving, and marking machines to create products from various materials. They must have strong mechanical and technical skills, as well as a good eye for detail, in order to accurately operate the machine and achieve the desired results.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate laser cutting, welding (plus but not required) and engraving machines according to specifications and blueprints.
• Monitor laser machines during operation
• Adjust laser speed and intensity to achieve the desired result
• Maintain and troubleshoot laser equipment
• Monitor the quality of parts produced to ensure they meet industry standards
• Maintain accurate records of the production and operation of the machines
• Handle/Move/Store material after and after cutting
• Able to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Able to set up and operate laser cutting machines
• Able to check and measure the accuracy of components
• Able to work accurately and pay attention to detail
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
• Any other duties as assigned by the Machining Supervisor or Senior Executive teams.
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Job Duties:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in laser cutting required
• Ability to operate and maintain laser cutting machinery
• Familiarity with health and safety protocols
• Must be able to work in a Team environment
• Must have good communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Hourly Wage: $23 - $30hr CAD

Day Shift: 7am - 3pm
