What Would You Do?

The Graphic Designer participates in various design projects from concept to completion, producing drafts, prototypes, and engaging design solutions. Working as part of the Artwork team within the PFG (Palliser Furniture Group) Marketing department, this position is responsible for design, layout, and maintenance of a wide range of marketing materials including but not limited to flyers, brochures, in-store signage of varying types, and digital assets for social media for Palliser Furniture Ltd., EQ3, and Encore Performance Seating.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

  • Understand project requirements and implement graphic techniques to create drafts based on the requirements within a tight deadline.
  • A focus on a wide range of projects and media, such as marketing and sales materials, social media assets, and varying sized artwork tasks.
  • Assist in colour correction, image manipulation, and other rudimentary projects.
  • Participate in various design projects with the Artwork team to brainstorm and launch project ideas from concept to completion.
  • Produce final design solutions for both print and digital environments, ensuring the utmost quality and accuracy.
  • Communicate with senior team members for feedback to hone skills and improve design.
  • Partner with the Content Director and Content Team to establish timelines and logistics of the project.
  • Review final product with Content Director and/or stakeholders involved.
  • Distribute the final product as needed following necessary approvals.
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities.
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends, developments, and tools.

What Do You Bring?

  • Good understanding of design principles, colour theory, typography, and branding.
  • Working knowledge of print production.
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree, diploma or equivalent experience in graphic design.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a graphic design role.
  • Complete design portfolio will be required.
  • Keen eye for design. High aesthetic standard.
  • Proficient in key Adobe Creative Cloud apps (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience in After Effects and Premier Pro would be an asset.
  • Attention to visual detail and strong aesthetic skills for colours, fonts, and layout.
  • Web UI and UX experience an asset.
  • Working knowledge of print production.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Ability to manage, handle, and organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand key priorities or messages and how to convey them effectively through a variety of creative.
  • Good understanding of social media. Specifically, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube.
  • Strong communication, written and verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proofreading skills are a plus.
