Architectural Project Manager – Residential Low-Rise Development
Location: Burlington, ON
Schedule: Full-Time | 4–5 Days Onsite
Requirement: Driver's License & Vehicle Required
Are you an experienced Architectural Technologist turned Project Manager with a passion for residential low-rise design and a strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code? Our client, a well-established and growing residential developer, is seeking a talented Architectural Project Manager to join their collaborative, tight-knit team of three on the architectural side of the business.
This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of projects—from design development through permit application to construction drawings and final delivery—all while playing a key role in shaping community development.
What You'll Be Doing As the Architectural Project Manager, you will:
  • Coordinate and manage projects from design development to construction
  • Oversee and lead building permit application processes with various municipalities
  • Communicate regularly with external consultants, city planning departments, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead architectural design reviews, zoning by-law evaluations, and building code compliance
  • Collaborate on product research and cost analysis for energy efficiency, sustainability, and market trends
  • Work cross-functionally with land development, sales & marketing, construction, and design centre teams
  • Prepare and manage comprehensive permit and working drawing packages
  • Oversee site visits, as-built drawing reviews, and construction milestone inspections
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to improving internal architectural standards and processes
What We're Looking For
  • 5–10 years of experience in residential low-rise architecture
  • Strong background in design development (DD) and permit coordination
  • Prior experience as an Architectural Technologist is essential
  • Proven ability to manage full project lifecycle independently
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams and municipalities
  • Proficient with AutoCAD (Revit is a bonus)
  • Sound knowledge of OBC and municipal zoning bylaws
  • Experience with construction documentation, sales/marketing coordination, and permit scheduling
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
What's In It for You
  • Salary: Starting at $85,000+, commensurate with experience
  • Work Environment: Collaborative team culture with 4–5 days per week in the Burlington office
  • Diverse responsibilities, autonomy, and full project exposure
  • A company that values mentorship, process improvement, and long-term development
