Nutemp Mechanical Systems Ltd. is a COR certified multi-trade mechanical contractor that focuses on industrial, commercial, and institutional markets. With over 40 years of experience, Nutemp has evolved into a vertically integrated, industry-leading mechanical organization in southern Ontario.
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join the Estimating team.
YOUR Responsibilities:
- Gather and retain current and accurate data on costs of goods, materials, market labour and equipment rates from suppliers and sub-trades.
- Identify most competitive rates based on cost analysis and comparison.
- Identify conflicts with plans and submits questions to consultant.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates by calculating material quantity take-offs, equipment and labour rates for tender verification.
- Review and evaluate proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and the content of estimate.
- Prepare budgets on award of proposals and prepare file for handoff to the Project team.
- Follow-up on submissions with clients and provide quantitative feedback on pricing.
- Maintain an active data base of clients, vendors and subtrades.
- Review estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to final quotation.
- Prepare final estimate summaries, ensuring they address scope, pricing and comprehensiveness.
- Assist the Senior Estimator, Estimating team and Management team with the pursuit and acquisition of new projects.
- Review estimates with Sr. Estimator and the Management team.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC, piping, plumbing)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of extensive experience in organizing and preparing cost estimates and proposals for construction projects.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and documents.
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), MS project and CAD and or Revit.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, analyze and understand construction drawings, documentation, contracts, cost coding systems and work breakdown structures.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
