Our client is hiring a Jr. NOC Technician to join their team here in Ottawa. The primary responsibility will be to provide support to their network environment by monitoring the network and taking action on anomalies that arise.
Responsibilities

• Ensure network security, updates, and monitoring, including fault prevention, hardware support, and maintenance coordination.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and escalate incidents effectively for prompt resolution.
• Manage incident ticketing accurately to facilitate communication among teams.
• Assist in researching, selecting vendors, and implementing new network services.
• Mentor team members, identify automation opportunities, and collaborate on procedural improvements.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass an English fluency assessment, mandatory.
• Degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Preferred certifications: CCNA and CCNP.
• Familiarity with ITILv3 and/or ITILv4 frameworks.
• Familiarity in switching, routing, Unix/Linux Administration, and technical troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience supporting IT infrastructure in complex environments.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities for multitasking in dynamic environments.
• Ability to work rotating schedule of days and night shifts, on-site.
