Job Title: Laser Welder
Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: Test and Tune Supervisor
Company: Nanowave Technologies Inc.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and automated laser welding equipment to assemble electronic components.
  • Utilize laser markers for part identification and traceability.
  • Conduct vacuum bake processes to ensure component integrity.
  • Perform mechanical shock and thermal shock testing to validate product durability.
  • Execute gross and fine leak testing to assess reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding processes, inspections, and test results.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to optimize welding processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to production schedules while maintaining efficiency and precision.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot laser-welding equipment.
  • Understanding of electronic component assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in welding operations.
  • Basic knowledge of vacuum bake, mechanical shock, and thermal shock testing.
  • Familiarity with gross and fine leak testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with automated welding systems.
  • Knowledge of laser marking techniques.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments and ESD safety protocols.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in laser welding or a related manufacturing role.
