Job DescriptionWe are looking for a CI/CD Engineer contractor to join our growing global team at Sectigo.
The CI/CD Engineer (8 month contract) will support application development team in R&D to release new products and systems, implementing containers pipelines, in line with CloudOPs Standard and Application teams requirements.
This is a 40-hour/week contract role for at least 8 months to start, with the potential opportunity to convert to full-time and permanent status based on business needs and individual performance. The ideal candidate should be based out of the Ottawa area and reports to our office as requested. The proposed hourly rate for this position is between CAN 80 to 90 per hour, based on years of experience and internal equity.
Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
- Collaborate closely with the application development team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices for cloud operations.
- Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- 7+ years of software and/or operational experience in building and maintaining internet-facing production environments.
- Experience running a large-scale 24/7 production environment.
- Experience with distributed data processing, databases, and large-scale file systems is a plus.
Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of source control tools (GitHub preferred).
- Extensive experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible preferred).
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred).
- Extensive experience with automated code integration (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Good understanding of container technology (Docker preferred).
- Good experience in container orchestration technology (Kubernetes preferred).
- Good experience configuration of webservers (NGINX)
- Relational Database Server management, Clusters, ( MySQL, Aurora, Postgres)
- Experience in developing and managing a web application like Laravel, PHP Applications, Python, etc.
- Network administration experience is a plus.
- Exposure to Security and Testing frameworks is a plus.
- Exposure to compliant regulated industries such as Finance, Healthcare, or Government is a plus.
- Experience with distributed data processing, databases, and large-scale file systems is a plus.
