Salary: $40.91 - $50.97

POSITION SUMMARY:
The coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of Supported Child Development (SCD)
Program services to children who require extra support, their families and the childcare settings they attend. The duties include supervision and support of Consultants and Program Assistants, support to children and families, and program management. The coordinator is also responsible for promoting and representing Kinsight and the Supported Child Development program in community.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

4-year degree from a university or college of recognized standing in a field related to the position (e.g. Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology).
Maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record check clearance throughout employment
A valid BC Class 5 drivers license
Required to use a personal vehicle
First Aid with CPR
Willingness to work evenings/weekends (flextime)
MANDT training
This position requires BCGEU union membership

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years experience facilitating a process of individual planning for children who require additional support, and their families, in a variety of inclusive childcare settings and experience with home visiting.
Supervisory and administration experience, including statistical record keeping, scheduling and planning for staff and working with budgets and individualized funding.
High level of understanding and experience with regard to childhood development and the impact of disability and delay on growth and development.

Knowledge of and experience working with community agencies and government systems and services, including the health and education systems and the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
Experience in establishing relationships and working collaboratively with community members and related organizations.
Experience within a Supported Child Development model preferred.
Demonstrated practical experience in exercising independent judgment and initiative.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal, including record keeping, reporting, facilitation, presentation and public speaking skills).
Ability to work as an effective team member and provide leadership to a team.
