We are seeking experienced Electrical Consultants to support a variety of power generation and heavy industrial projects. Consultants will be assigned to either expansion or sustainment work and will provide expert oversight on electrical construction, contractor coordination, technical review, QA/QC, and safety. The ideal candidate has hands-on field experience with electrical systems in industrial settings and is comfortable collaborating with engineers, contractors, and plant operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:1. Communication & Coordination- Lead and participate in site meetings (toolbox talks, project updates, pre-tender, kickoff, equipment turnover).
- Coordinate electrical work between contractors and facility operations teams.
- Provide timely updates to engineering, project management, and construction groups.
- Support progress reporting, risk tracking, and lessons learned initiatives.
- Review project scopes, schedules, and risk assessments specific to electrical systems.
- Ensure contractors meet contractual requirements, including deliverables and timelines.
- Assess contractor invoices, T&M records, material costs, and change orders.
- Track progress of electrical installations, manage critical path activities, and document status in internal systems.
- Support budgeting and estimating for current or future electrical work.
- Review and provide input on electrical designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct site walks to validate designs with field conditions.
- Engage with engineering support to resolve RFIs or field issues.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review contractor redlines, assist with as-built documentation, and support commissioning activities.
- Participate in deficiency tracking and system turnover processes.
- Set expectations for QA/QC specific to electrical work on-site.
- Review contractor QA/QC plans, ITPs, and confirm witness/hold points.
- Perform field inspections on electrical installations at key stages.
- Verify contractor documentation and quality control checklists.
- Participate in system walkdowns and support final QA/QC signoff.
- Promote a strong electrical safety culture on-site.
- Conduct electrical safety orientations and enforce contractor compliance.
- Assist with identifying and mitigating site safety risks (e.g., LOTO procedures, arc flash hazards).
- Perform site audits and support investigation of electrical safety incidents.
- Maintain required safety certifications and complete additional training as needed.
Requirements
- Experience as an electrical construction supervisor or in monitoring electrical installations.
- Minimum 5 years of related electrical industrial experience, including:
- Electrical cabling installations
- Generator step-up transformer (GSUT) and station transformer installation
- Switchgear installation experience.
- Instrumentation and control (I&C) systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working closely with engineers and construction teams.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on power plant or industrial facility construction and maintenance projects
- Familiarity with construction safety practices, including:
- First aid training
- Confined space entry
- Fall protection
- Lockout/tag-out systems
