The Opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic, individual to join our passionate and high performing People & Culture (P&C) team in Western Canada. The People & Culture Business Partner – Supply & Trading (P&C BP), will be a part of the team of P&C professionals, working diligently to provide guidance and support to the leaders within Parkland's teams. Bringing a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team, the P&C BP will provide advice and support to the business on P&C matters related to the employee life cycle. The successful candidate will serve as an advocate for employee engagement, development, and performance, while supporting the ongoing work related to P&C initiatives and projects. This role supports the Supply & Trading teams across Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Learn the client's business, strategy and annual objectives.
- Use data and analysis to understand your client's talent and employee relations issues, and use facts and data to develop solutions.
- Partner with leaders and their teams to solve business, talent and employee relations issues.
- Partner with the P&C COE's to find solutions to your client's talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, employee development and performance management challenges.
- Lead the roll out of annual P&C Programs including, Performance Management, and Succession Planning.
- Lead the roll out of P&C policy, program and systems changes as they relate to employees and leaders.
- Work with internal P&C stakeholders as well as the business to build out Parkland's diverse and inclusive workforce by means of our recruitment, new hire on-boarding and orientation processes.
- Ensure that P&C practices and objectives provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing customer service, empowerment, quality, productivity and goal attainment.
- Coach and support frontline and midlevel managers on proactive leadership and the effective implementation of P&C programs; such as change management, learning and development, individual development planning, and succession.
- Provide support and coaching on employee performance as well as facilitation of terminations when required.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a University degree and/or a Diploma in Human Resources with relevant experience, working towards CPHR or achieved CPHR designation
- An established Business Partner with 9 or more years of experience, growth and advancement within the human resources profession.
- This position requires a fully engaged professional, who is an enthusiastic team player that works towards positive outcomes while pragmatically preparing for contingencies and alternatives in a dynamic, growth-oriented company. Equally important to this is the candidate's ability to communicate clearly and effectively, while developing and maintaining positive relationships.
- A key part of this role is the ability to travel to our various offices across Canada and United States as required
- The ability to build and foster trust-based relationships, based upon mutual respect and assurance of confidentiality when working on ethical or sensitive matters with stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- A willingness to work within and support the team in various capacities as applicable when rolling out programs, initiatives, and projects.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, utilize strong writing, verbal and presentation skills throughout their daily activities.
- Work with our community of experts to understand and meet the needs of the business through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of effective and practical P&C programs.
- A keen eye for attention to detail and a strong appreciation for producing high quality work.
