Job DescriptionThe primary goal of the Cloud Network Security Operations Engineer is to ensure the smooth and secure operations of the Assent data networks, under the direction of the Manager, Security and Network Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our AWS cloud network infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation and IaC. You will leverage your expertise in Terraform and AWS networking services to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud environment.
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
Participate in the design, configuration and administration of AWS network services and technologies (AWS Network Firewall, Guard Duty, WAF, Transit Gateway, Site-to-site VPN, STNO)
Develop, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure using Terraform to automate the deployment and management of AWS networking resources
Implement and manage version control for network IaC using Git
Implement and maintain security best practices for AWS networking, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Assist in the development and execution of long-term network architecture and operation strategies
Implement monitoring for network interconnectivity and remote networks
Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Cloud Operations teams to ensure smooth integration of network services
Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent

QualificationsWe strongly value your talent and passion, but it would also be nice if you had the following experience and qualifications under your belt:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with a focus on cloud-based solutions, preferably within a large-scale, global environment
Strong oral and written communication skills - you communicate clearly, concisely, and with tact
Expertise in configuring and administering AWS services and technologies such as AWS Network Firewall, Guard Duty, WAF, Transit Gateway, Site-to-site VPN, STNO
Strong proficiency in CI/CD technologies such as Terraform, Jenkins Git and Python for infrastructure automation
Experience with ZScaler ZPA configuration and administration
Strong working experience in network and security auditing
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including senior management
Business-focused mindset, understanding how security aligns with the organization's goals
Highly adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in ambiguous situations
Strong problem-solving skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a commitment to documentation and process
