As we continue to evolve and expand our operations at YVR, Securiguard is seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor, Airside Safety Escort Operations to support our growing Airside Safety Escort (ASE) division.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, ASE Operations, the Supervisor will provide leadership and operational oversight across multiple sites on the Aerodrome. This role ensures strict adherence to safety and security protocols as outlined in the YVRAA Airside Safety Escort Services contract, while supporting a high-performance team and maintaining exceptional service delivery.


What You Would do:

  • Coordinate with the ASE Operations Coordinator to always ensure appropriate staffing levels of trained and certified Escorts.
  • Liaise with the Airport Authority's operations and engineering departments, as well as contracted service providers, to ensure airside activities meet safety and security standards.
  • Deliver daily safety briefings to unionized staff as directed by the Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all aviation safety, security regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct site reviews, audits, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Deliver onboarding and refresher training for employees regarding new operational updates.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and leadership in Safety Management Systems (SMS), incident response, reporting, and access control.
  • Assist in investigations related to threats, asset loss, or misappropriation.
  • Oversee issuance and tracking of uniforms, equipment, and a fleet of up to 100 vehicles.
  • Manage allocation of resources and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set by the Manager.
  • Monitor and enforce mandatory training and certification compliance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of construction safety, aircraft movement, airside traffic directives, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Analyze health and safety data and report on trends.
  • Represent ASE on joint committees including JOHS, Ramp Operators, and Senior Leadership.
  • Support the Manager and Assistant Manager with additional duties as needed.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an airport environment, preferably in an operations or analytical role, or 2-3 years in airside operations at a Class 1 or 2 aerodrome.
  • Alternatively, candidates without direct airport experience may be considered if they have a minimum of 2-3 years of proven supervisory experience in a fast-paced, fluid environment, and have previously held a leadership role with responsibility for overseeing teams, operations, and performance outcomes.
  • Experience supervising in a unionized setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), other programs and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage stress, make sound decisions under pressure, and always maintain professionalism.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid BC Security License (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with clean abstract.
  • Valid "D/A" or "D" AVOP (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) (or ability to obtain) and successfully complete the company's security screening process.

Additional Information:

  • Majority of duties will be performed outdoors and in a vehicle environment.
  • Must be available to work up to 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays). Shifts will be a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • On-call availability 24/7 for emergency support, including snow operations.
  • Daily use of vehicle required for patrol and support duties.
  • This is an in-person role at YVR.
