Key Responsibilities
Prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for your clients in a variety of industries. This includes performing Compilation, Review and Audit engagements, including accounting and tax returns for clients, as well as preparing working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
Communicate effectively with team members in relation to progress updates and other issues on an ongoing basis
Build positive relationships with clients through efficient responses to requests and suggestions, both internally and externally
Your experience and education
Must have University degree or college diploma in accounting and on the way to completing CPA designation. If candidate already has CPA designation, this would be viewed as an asset.
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in Public Accounting with a focus in audit/assurance.
Prior experience in preparation of compilation, review and audit engagements.
Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNFPO)
Knowledge Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) is an asset.
Experience in drafting financial statements including related note disclosures.
Preparation of corporate tax returns.
Experience communicating directly with clients.
Previous experience working with small businesses/private owner-managed entities.
Experience with Caseware, Caseview/Jazz-IT and Profile is preferred
