The Role

Our client is a reputable and leading Canadian manufacturer and supplier with multiple locations around the country, in the search for Red Seal Machinists or Certified Automation Technicians for the Brandon location for their 24/7 operating facility.

Offering multiple opportunities for growth and a strong pension plan, our client requires the maintenance team to work on a 12-hour shift between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on the following rotation shifts: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off.

Responsibilities

• Predictive and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, compressors, power transmitters, conveyor belt systems, hydraulic components, electro-mechanical equipment, and automated machinery as well as PLC programming.
• Experienced working with automated and manual machinery. Robotics experience would be a strong asset.
• Equipment installations and fabrication of parts experience.
• Understanding of computing systems to complete any required maintenance reports.
• Following the safety company and union protocols.

Requirements

• Red Seal Machinist or Automation certification required.
• Previous union experience would be an asset.
• Mechanically inclined and strong in equipment diagnosis.
• Strong understanding and interpretation of blueprints and manuals.
• Ability to work well in teams as well as independently.
• A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Had success working in a fast-paced environment.
• Organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• A strong commitment to health and safety standards and protocols.
