The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall fiscal functions of the company, including its subsidiaries. This position oversees internal and external accounting operations and procedures such as compliance, financial controls, forecasts and reports, treasury, tax, audit, and other finance operations. In collaboration with regional leaders and the senior leadership team, the CFO is to provide strategic leadership, support organizational transformation, maximize financial performance, protect company assets, and allocate capital in alignment with the overall purpose, vision, and strategy.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee the following functional areas:

Financial Leadership and Strategic Growth: Lead ATS' financial strategy, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, and execution. Your strategic direction will drive the company's growth and operational efficiency, placing ATS Traffic in a strong financial position.

Capital Acquisition and Management: Spearhead efforts to secure capital and manage financial resources effectively. You will build and maintain a strong network of capital providers, ensuring ATS Traffic has the financial support needed to pursue innovation and expansion.

Global Financial Compliance and Reporting: Oversee financial reporting across Canada and the US, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and financial regulations. Your leadership will ensure that ATS Traffic sound's financial practices meet the highest standards of diligence and accuracy.

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

  • As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide business intelligence, reporting, and recommendations to guide the financial performance of the company and offering insights and recommendations for business decision-making.
  • Provide exceptional leadership that motivates all stakeholders of ATS Traffic Ltd.
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate regularly with managers, leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to speak clearly, be heard, voice opinions, and take effective action in all business matters.
  • Determine how each department can maximize and increase efficiency and productivity, as it relates to financial resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency, reduce costs, and support overall business performance.
  • Proactivity manages the business's capital requirements, including negotiating the acquisition of capital and building strategic relationships with capital providers.
  • Lead the Finance department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

  • Demonstrate expertise in finance, accounting, and capital planning.
  • Maintain the cash flow of the company by ensuring consistent and accurate cash flow planning via a rolling 12-month cash flow plan.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and tax regulations across all regions where ATS Traffic operates.
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports are prepared and effectively presented with variance analysis and suggestions for improvement.
  • Oversee the finance and accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Provide management meetings with monthly KPIs.
  • Create and hold business departments accountable to budgets.
  • A high level of skill in modeling and forecasting including sensitivity analysis to guide financial health.
  • Ensure optimum capital allocation and secure appropriate funding through strategic planning.
  • Manage effective collection and payments of debts.
  • Maintain compliance with all banking covenants.
  • Maintain and update 1, 2, and 10-year financial forecasts.

LEGAL AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and tax requirements in USA and Canada.
  • Provide the board of directors with regular business updates.

MERGER & ACQUISITION

  • Financial Modeling: Provide strategic financial analysis, modeling, and planning to support collaborative optimization of resource allocation for existing, transitioning, new, and emerging projects and products, influence project investment objective date and leverage internal and external partnerships.
  • Economic modeling: Provide sound economic perspective to the CEO, business and scientific unit leaders, functional leaders, and budget owners, to support and influence business decision-making and establish visibility of operational cost drivers and financial data.
  • Ability to create and analyse company's Proforma that reflects businesses long-term plan.
  • Ability to stress-test data models and make data driven suggestions to the Board of directors and Senior Leadership team.
  • Experience with sourcing and securing financial facilities needed for M&A opportunities. Ensure that all Bank covenants are monitored and any potential risks with violation is avoided.
  • Ensure the minute book is accurately maintained.
  • Manage the company's capital requirements, including negotiations for capital acquisition and maintaining relationships with financial institutions.

Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent designation required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's degree considered an asset.
  • 4+ years of senior leadership management.
  • 10+ years of corporate accounting. US experience an asset.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Debt Facilities: Familiarity with debt facilities in the US.
  • Hands-on and Strategic Approach: The ability to be both hands-on and strategic, which is crucial for setting up the accounting and finance function within an organization.
  • Strong Personality and Go-Getter Attitude: A strong personality and go-getter attitude, which can be valuable in driving the company's financial strategy and operations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Skills in identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations. Knowledge of US accounting principles or experience with US companies is highly valued.
  • A valid passport, with the ability to travel without restriction.
  • Experience working with a board of directors.
