The LaPrairie Group of Companiesis looking for energetic, customer focused and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an IT Summer StudentatCalgary, Alberta office. We are looking to fill two (2) student positions.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Summer Studentis responsible for supporting and helping to maintain all aspects of the IT network at LaPrairie Group of Companies. This role includes a mixture of end-user technical and desktop support, in addition to supporting other systems, servers, and networks.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and assistance to local and remote staff with a variety of common day to day issues.
- Manage light-to-moderate volume of calls and tickets through the corporate helpdesk ticketing system.
- Imaging computers and deploying software to a variety of hardware platforms.
- Triaging issues with in-house corporate applications, determining likely root causes and coordinating support with other staff.
- Supporting common and current Windows Desktop OS.
- Supporting common and current Windows Server OS.
- Microsoft Office365 Administration.
- Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP Administration.
- Report trends on current IT related issues.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the IT Manager.
- Occasional Travel to remote office locations (< 5%).
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in and working on completing Bachelors or Associate degree, or post-secondary technology certificate.
- Some experience with desktop support.
- Strong customer-service, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
- Strong multitasking and analytical mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Exposure to helpdesk ticketing systems would be an asset.
- Experience with O365, Active Directory, Team would be an asset.
- Experience with common basic networking technologies (VLANs, IPsec VPNs, etc.) would be an asset.
