TO APPLY: Please send a headshot and either a demo reel, OR a self tape doing the monologue below.Monologue option:Avyx (Tending a bar. Discusses his early days with would-be adventurers in his tavern)Unlike other adventurers (glares at someone behind audience), I grew up in the streets of this very city. My earliest memories were of having older kids teaching me how to steal food and lift coin purses, only to shake me off at the end of the day, leaving me with barely enough to scratch a living.I quickly realized I had to be smarter, quicker, and wiser than my fellow street rats to rise into the more comfortable layers of the citys criminal elements. Funnily enough, I achieved that by literally rising above street level, becoming an accomplished cat burglar. Turns out people think the higher you store your valuables, the harder theyll be to steal. In fact, that reminds me of the time where(Insert a 30 sec to 1 min improvisation about what it was Avyx stole and barely escaped being caught. Include an additional whats that you say? [repeat question] segment as if you also answered a question from your audience.)Regardless, when the citys thieves guild caught wind of my increasingly daring exploits, I was cornered by a group of thugs and given a very simple choice: join and share my spoils with their community or stop operating in the cityI got to tell you, dont like sharing the fruit of my work much, at least not when Im the only one taking risks. I believe I needed to take my leave of the city and joined a band of adventurers on their way to help a nearby village from goblin raiders or something like that.I wont lie, I kind of liked being called a hero. It sure beats being called a thief, although I still ended up taking things that technically didnt belong to me. In fact, I ended up acquiring enough loot to buy this tavern and retire comfortably.Pretty good for a street rat if you ask me.
