Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales organization and drive growth across multiple healthcare channels. This role is critical to expanding our footprint in the Canadian cardiometabolic space and will require a leader experienced in medical device sales, team building, and channel development within the following areas:

Family Doctors & Primary Care Clinics Cardiology Clinics Executive Health Programs Hospital Outpatient Departments Direct-to-Patient (D2P) Executive Health and Private Clinics Naturopathic & Integrative Health Clinics Home Health Care Providers Retirement & Assisted Living Communities


Responsibilities

  • Develop & execute a progressive sales strategy,
  • Build and implement a comprehensive sales plan targeting each channel, aligned with corporate growth goals.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team; establish performance metrics and ensure accountability.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships within targeted sectors.
  • Customer Engagement: Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers, KOLs, and stakeholders across healthcare settings.
  • Sales Operations: Oversee forecasting, budgeting, pipeline management, CRM usage, and reporting functions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Growth teams to align messaging, refine value propositions, and ensure customer success.
  • Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant medical regulations and industry standards.

Sales Team Leadership & Development:

  • Strategic mentoring of high-performing sales teams across diverse Canadian markets and/or territories.
  • Recruit, and retain top sales talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while retaining
  • Coach and mentor a high performing sales team to support individual and team growth
  • Develop effective onboarding programs, sales training initiatives, and performance management frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
  • A background in and/or experience in cardio vascular disease is a strong preference
  • 810+ years of sales experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or health technology, with 3+ years in a sales leadership role
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company goals
  • Experience launching new products and/or entering new markets.
  • Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, and territory planning
  • Proven track record in multi-channel healthcare sales, ideally including primary care, cardiology, and private health sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of the medical device landscape, especially in cardiovascular, metabolic, or diagnostics including ability to understand and communicate the clinical and technical value of cardio-metabolic devices to healthcare professionals. .
  • Strong understanding of cardiometabolic health and the broader preventative care landscape.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments (e.g., Health Canada, FDA, HIPAA compliance)
  • Skilled in aligning team structure and goals with company growth strategies and market demands.
  • Experience with contract negotiations and managing strategic accounts.
  • Strong focus on coaching and leadership development, with an emphasis on empowering team members to reach and exceed targets
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. A strategic thinker with practical execution skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required, regional and international (if applicable), 30%
