About the Role:
The Crisis Stabilization Program is a 24/7 service which provides an alternative to incarceration and/or hospitalization for community members experiencing a crisis related to their substance use and/or mental health. The Withdrawal Management Program is a 24/7 service which provides bed-based withdrawal management support and connections to other forms of care.
As a member of the Clinical Leadership Team, the Clinical Supervisor Withdrawal Management & Crisis Stabilization is accountable for providing clinical direction and oversight, program planning, programming, recruitment support, and direct supervision of staff in the Addiction Medicine & Withdrawal pillar of service. The Clinical Supervisor will participate in the leadership on-call rotation. Previous experience in withdrawal management and/or crisis stabilization an asset.

Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday (days), with evening and weekend and evening work required on a rotational/regular basis to supervise and support staff teams
- Participation in a mandatory clinical on call rotation is also required, as a shared responsibility of the Clinical Leadership team

Qualifications:
- Completion of a BSW or other University Degree relevant to mental health, addiction or Social Services
- Minimum of 1 years direct clinical work with individuals experiencing substance use and/or and concurrent mental health issues including trauma required
- Registration with a professional college (i.e. OCSWSSW or CRPO) required
Food Handlers Certification an asset - Experience providing clinical supervision and team leadership
- Strong knowledge of substance use theory and practice, withdrawal management, peer-based service delivery, and current best practices particularly concurrent and trauma-informed
- Previous experince in the field of substance use mandatory
Previous experience in withdrawal management and/or crisis stabilization an asset - Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset
- Certified Addictions Counsellor or equivalent would be an asset
- CSC Clearance conducted by PWGS Canada
- Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
- Valid G drivers license and Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
- Own transportation/reliable vehicle required
- Flexible schedule as required to support program delivery
- Must be able to attend work (travel to Continuous Care Centres) within an hour of notification, when on call
Role Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision
- Take a leadership role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the services within the AMW Portfolio
- Provide direct supervision to staff in the Withdrawal Management & Crisis Stabilization Program
- Participate in new staff recruitment in conjunction with the Clinical Manager
- Orient and support new staff in understanding their role and responsibilities
- Supporting professional development of staff through routine supervision
- Providing coaching, feedback, mentoring, and targeted use of supervision as required
- Complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all supervisees in consultation with Clinical Manager Addiction Medicine & Withdrawal
- Actively cultivate high performance teams, supporting and enhancing a culture of openness, accountability, and mutual respect within and across teams
- Administrative management including oversight of case noting, service events, reporting and target achievement
- Guide clinical decision-making and manage high-risk situations in partnership with the Clinical Manager
- Provide oversight of the daily operations of the Withdrawal Management and Crisis Stabilization Program as directed by the Clinical Manager
- Provide on call support on off hours on a rotational basis, as required to all STC services.
- Schedule staff in conjunction with Scheduling Coordinator
- Ensure staffing is in place to meet program needs, including contingency planning for unexpected absences
- Participate in all team meetings; Facilitate monthly meetings for the staff team
- Attend Clinical Leadership Team meetings, Supervisor Team meetings, and support program and organizational development
- Provide coverage for the Clinical Manager Addiction Medicine & Withdrawal and Clinical Supervisor CWSS&RAAM during short term absences (holiday coverage, etc.); take on necessary responsibilities and support agency and program decision making
- Provide clinical guidance to staff
- Support Staff in utilizing a TC approach to decision making and interventions
- Work alongside the STC Leadership Team, while utilizing the TC approach, to support program development
- Work alongside Leadership and Joint Health and Safety committee to ensure program and location safety
Community Partnership and Capacity Building
- Build strong relationships with all community partners, attending meetings and representing STC as required
- Support staff in utilizing a trauma-informed and harm reduction approach to decision making and interventions
- Work alongside the STC Leadership Team, while utilizing the trauma-informed and harm reduction approach, to support program development
Administrative
- Complete regular clinical file audits
- Participate in quality assurance processes such as accreditation and the implementation of permanent supportive housing program outcome measurement tools and reporting of results (i.e. tenants satisfaction surveys)
- Sign off hours for electronic payroll
- Support team members with the utilization of Agency platforms (EMR platforms, ATS, Payroll and Communication tools)
