THE ROLE

Our client, a leading manufacturer in Hamilton, ON, is currently seeking a Production Control Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This key leadership role will oversee the production office and ensure seamless scheduling, planning, and coordination across multiple departments, including fabrication, machining, and assembly. The ideal candidate will have experience using ERP systems (Visual Manufacturing by Infor preferred) and a strong background in production scheduling and work order management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use ERP tools to manage supply and demand, generate production schedules, and oversee outsourced services.
  • Ensure system accuracy and integrity for all production-related data.
  • Lead and mentor production office staff, ensuring accountability and clarity in roles.
  • Support production departments by developing and managing detailed schedules for work orders, material movement, and resource utilization.
  • Oversee inventory and work order controls across materials, subassemblies, and finished goods.
  • Lead daily production schedule and requisition meetings.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling issues to prevent delays in production timelines.
  • Review and maintain system documentation, job descriptions, and internal processes.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, Purchasing, and other departments to meet production goals.
  • Track and report KPIs related to production performance.
  • Support Health & Safety, Quality, and Production procedures, ensuring all training is up to date.
  • Manage direct reports, including performance reviews, scheduling, and cross-training.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for production-related incidents.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in a production planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Master Scheduler (Knowledge of Visual, steel fabrication, machining and assembly).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Visual Manufacturing by Infor is a strong asset).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and resolve production scheduling conflicts.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, work order tracking, and manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety and Quality standards in an industrial setting.
  • Experience in supervising staff and managing cross-functional communication.
