Position Title: Marketing Coordinator, Canada Summer Jobs
Location: Kitchener, ON
Term: Full-time, Temporary (16 weeks)
Reports To: Marketing and Communications Manager
Salary: $17.20/hour
Start Date: May 5, 2025
I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities
This funded position through Canada Summer Jobs Program, will afford a youth the opportunity to gain experience and learn practical skills associated with working in a national healthcare organization. The youth will gain experience in creating accessible content for individuals with vision loss, while also contributing to VLRC's marketing and communications efforts by assuming the following responsibilities:
II. Essential Functions
•Create engaging copy for the website, social media posts, newsletters and other relevant marketing materials.
•Review and edit written content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
•Assist with creating visually appealing and accessible graphics for social media, marketing materials, infographics and website.
•Provide support for public relations and work on other administrative projects as directed by the manager.
•Utilize software and other tools to analyze data, create reports, and tracking marketing campaign performance.
•Other related activities and duties as assigned.
Requirements
III. Qualifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
•Currently enrolled in a college or university program focusing on marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design or any related field.
•Proficiency in MS Office suite, including strong knowledge of Excel.
•Experience with graphic design, video and photo editing.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
•is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
•is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
•is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible.
