Our video distribution services team is looking for a Web/Device TQA Test Lead to help validate OTT streaming experiences across multiple platforms and devices.

About the Role:

As a TQA Test Lead, you will be responsible for hands-on testing across connected devices and platforms to ensure high-quality streaming experiences. This role involves functional validation, automation scripting, and in-depth troubleshooting across OTT ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on testing of APIs, mobile apps, smart TVs, and embedded consumer electronics devices (e.g., Chromecast, Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku).
• Validate streaming protocols and DRM technologies including DASH, HLS, Fairplay, Widevine, and PlayReady.
• Conduct cross-browser platform testing to ensure consistent experience.
• Use network proxy tools (Charles, ADB, Developer Tools) to inspect, read, and modify network requests.
• Leverage monitoring tools like New Relic, Appsflyer, Firebase, and Clevertap to analyze performance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Testim.io, Selenium, Appium, JMeter, STB Tester.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure quality across products.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and standardization of best practices.

Work Model:

On-site: Due to the nature of devices involved in testing, this role requires in-office presence at the Toronto location.

Technical Expertise and Background:

• 5+ years of testing experience in the OTT media domain.
• Strong background in audio/video testing across connected devices and smart TVs.
• Proven experience in API and microservices testing.
• In-depth knowledge of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and DRM (Widevine, Fairplay, PlayReady).
• Experience with automation frameworks: Testim.io, Selenium, Appium, JMeter, STB Tester.
• Proficiency with network analysis tools such as Charles Proxy, ADB, and browser developer tools.
• Strong debugging skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
