What Youll Do:


Raw milk receiving:

  • Receive milk, grade, and test milk according to standard operating procedures. Connect lines to tanks, trucks, and silos for transporting milk and performing sanitation. Collect samples of incoming raw milk and inventory milk for quality assessments as required.
  • Ensure all Netsuite related transactions for the respective department are completed in a timely and accurate manner

HTST pasteurizing:

  • Ensure all Netsuite related transactions for the respective department are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To take a raw milk product and pasteurize it through defined step by step process that ensures that all products are completely up to regulations and guidelines.
  • Must have the ability to learn and understand the pasteurizing process including homogenization and separation of milk and cream.
  • Monitor fats, total solids, allergen, and other related items as they associate with processing dairy products.
  • The batcher is responsible for ensuring the product sent to the filler has been made according to an approved recipe using the proper Good Manufacturing Practices and lot control/material usage methods for making a quality product.
  • The batcher coordinates staging of ingredients and usage of equipment to ensure the production line is properly supplied with product to avoid stopping the line under any circumstances.
  • The batcher must have significant expertise with all operational functions and limitations of both the batching room and equipment and thermal units.
  • The operator must have a complete understanding of the quality requirements of the products and materials used during the scheduled run.
  • The batcher must be able to adjust equipment as needed according to their formula standards.
  • The batcher will maintain the batching room to be a safe working environment. (i.e.: spills cleaned up, garbage removed, skids safely put away)
  • The batcher will report any obvious repeated deviations from the standard acceptable limits immediately to the line supervisor.
  • Accurately prepare & maintain all area paperwork.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  • Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures and report any deficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Pasteurizing/dairy/sanitation experience an asset.
  • Milk Graders License and HTST Operator Training is required will provide training.
  • Strong mathematical skills. (calculating, problem solving)
  • Reliable and dependable. (ability to work with minimum supervision)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to allergens.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Must meet physical demands of the job.
