Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Designer/Project Coordinator to join our team, specializing in custom one-off jobs, small runs, and repeat orders across various industries. This role provides an exciting opportunity to tackle complex design challenges while collaborating closely with customers, suppliers, and our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and project management, demonstrating leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical drawings, including preparing detail part drawings, subassembly drawings, and bills of material.
- Generate cut profiles for manufacturing processes.
- Issue purchase orders to vendors for outsourced processes and materials.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate proactively with various departments based on project requirements.
- Maintain strong professional relationships at all levels.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Teamwork:
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Willing to take technical guidance and support from team members.
Design and Execution:
- Complete the design and development of mechanical systems and components.
- Ensure designs meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
- Manage and remedy design changes and revisions.
- Review, approve, and create design drawings and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., manufacturing, quality assurance) to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Manage multiple mechanical design projects simultaneously.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are successful.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in mechanical design and development.
- Strong technical skills in SolidWorks & AutoCAD.
Graduate of technical program preferably Mechanical Engineering Technology - Possess a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
