JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Community Manager at the Beverley works alongside the Community Manager and plays a vital role in the efficient operation and management of the building. This multifaceted position encompasses various responsibilities, including mainly maintenance, janitorial, and life safety tasks with some administrative responsibilities and coverage. RESPONSIBILITIES

Janitorial and Maintenance:

  • Cleaning
    • Remove trash and clean surfaces daily in common areas to keep them tidy and presentable.
    • Disinfect high-touch points like door handles, elevator buttons, and handrails daily to reduce germs.
    • Perform deep cleans of common areas monthly or quarterly, including walls, carpets, and hard-to-reach spots.
    • Deep clean vacated units, sanitize surfaces, and ensure appliances are spotless before new residents move in.
  • Maintenance:
    • Log and prioritize resident service requests promptly, ensuring timely, law-compliant repairs and clear communication on timelines.
    • Coordinate repairs with the team and vendors, keeping everyone informed throughout the process.
    • Support maintenance efforts by performing minor tasks like painting, drywall repair, and appliance fixes.
    • Respond quickly to emergencies, following protocols to minimize damage and ensure safety.
  • Inspections
    • Inspect common areas daily using a checklist to address cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs.
    • Monitor parking areas for rule compliance, signage, cleanliness, and coordinate with the manager on enforcement.
    • Keep equipment rooms organized and stocked; regularly check tools to ensure they're in good condition.

Administration Services:

  • Administrative:
    • Offer flexible support across tasks and properties as needed.
    • Learn key systems and processes to effectively back up the Community Manager.
    • Act as a tenant liaison, responding to concerns and promoting RENTCaf for maintenance requests.

The main objective of the Assistant Community Manager will be to undertake cleaning, maintenance and support related tasks at the Beverley building in New Westminster.

Hours:

The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week. The working schedule will be determined based on the needs of the building and will likely require a weekend day to be worked.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in property maintenance, cleaning, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with property management software (Yardi is an asset).
  • Comfortable with minor landscaping tasks.
  • Must be available during and after regular work hours for tenant and maintenance needs.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary will be a minimum of $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 per year with negotiation consistent for commensurate experience.
