Currently Fotenn is seeking applications for:

Planner

Full Time, Permanent

Ottawa, Ontario

As a Planner with Fotenn, you will assist with a variety of projects in all areas of development and policy planning, including development applications, Official Plan and Zoning By-law review, site planning and design, master planning, visioning, streetscape design, sustainable community design, urban design analysis, preparation of design documents, research and report writing. As key contributing members of the Fotenn team, our Planners work closely with members of the team at all levels to allow for professional growth and successful outcomes from the work performed.

Qualifications include:

Undergraduate and/or Masters level university degree in planning

Practical understanding of municipal land use planning systems and policies

Demonstrated ability to balance several projects simultaneously

Strong oral communication skills including presenting to, and liaising with, clients, municipal departments, review agencies, and the public

Strong technical writing experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to show initiative, critical thinking and work independently

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Assets include:

French written and oral communication skills

Prior related work experience

Membership in, or on the path to obtain, certification with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI)

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, GIS and/or AutoCAD

Possession of a valid drivers license
