The Position:
Summit Search Grouphas been retained byCobra Enterpriseson the recruitment of their nextElectrical Foreman.Cobra Enterprises, established in 2009, is a leading construction company headquartered in Beausejour, Manitoba. The company offers comprehensive building solutions across various sectors, specializing in remote projects throughout northern Canada as well as large-scale urban commercial developments.
With a team of over 175 employees, Cobra Enterprises operates through three specialized divisions: Cobra Modular, providing modular construction services; Cobra Mechanical, delivering mechanical and electrical solutions; and Cobra Structures, focusing on pre-engineered building solutions and general contracting services.
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading the onsite execution of electrical installations across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and specifications. The Foreman oversees a team of electricians and apprentices, manages subcontractors, coordinates with general contractors and project managers, and ensures materials, tools, and timelines are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise electrical installations according to blueprints, CSA standards, and applicable codes.
- Lead layout and planning of conduit, wiring, panels, and terminations; work alongside the crew to ensure high-quality execution.
- Order electrical materials and equipment, oversee deliveries, and manage packing slips and inventory.
- Direct, train, and mentor electricians and apprentices to ensure safe and effective performance.
- Promote a positive work environment with accountability and teamwork.
- Align electrical tasks with general contractor schedules and submit weekly look-ahead plans.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, site superintendents, project managers, and engineers on scope overlaps or conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace and electrical safety standards.
- Track time, material usage, and labor hours through ADP and Site Docs.
- Submit accurate daily reports, time entries, and ensure cost coding is correctly applied.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in electrical construction, with experience leading crews on active job sites
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
- Strong understanding of electrical code, system layout, and installation procedures
- Proficient in blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and interpretation of technical specifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Site Docs, ADP, and mobile project tools
