The Opportunity:

This national role is a key contributor to Parkland's space planning transformation journey, offering an opportunity to influence how we optimize space and enhance customer experience. The Planogram Advisor will provide subject matter expertise and is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's planogram database, ensuring accurate store allocations, optimizing space planning tools and processes. This role will collaborate with various internal stakeholders including Merchandising, Space Planning and Operations. In addition, this resource will be working with external stakeholders including vendors, and 3rd party merchandising teams. The Planogram Advisor will have primary responsibility of maintaining databases in Relex software.

Responsibilities:

Planogram Management & Execution

  • Maintain and update planogram databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Assign planograms to stores based on store clusters, formats, and customer demographics.
  • Ensure planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions and support product stock/non-stock decisions.
  • Cascade merchandising instructions, item and product support materials, and store list details to ensure correct planogram assignment.
  • Monitor and resolve store-specific planogram issues or exceptions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Category Management, Space Planning, Operations, and Merchandising.
  • Communicate planogram requirements to the Planogram team to ensure store-specific compliance with category presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party merchandising teams to support planogram execution.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on planogram tools and best practices.

Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development and enhancement of space planning tools and technology.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in planogram execution.
  • Assist in strategic projects related to space planning transformation.
  • Work cross-functionally to manage and optimize workflows for maximum efficiency.

Reporting & Insights

  • Generate reports and insights related to planogram compliance, store execution, and performance.
  • Analyze sales data and market research to optimize planograms for better results.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or finance.
  • 5+ years of related experience in retail/CPG analysis and/or category management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including demonstrated aptitude with category analysis and ability to generate insights from large or complex data sets.
  • Experience with Excel (advanced spreadsheet analytics) and Space Planning Software. Knowledge of BI Tools (Tableau / Power BI) an asset but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to constructively articulate viewpoint to category management team.
  • Experience with merchandise planning, category management and item hierarchy administration.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple demands; adjust to change quickly and work constructively under stress.
  • Creative problem solver able to make sound decisions based on data and standards.
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead and actively contribute to cross-functional teams comprised of peers and supervisors.
  • Bilingual an asset but not required.
