What Youll Be Doing
- Conduct comprehensive assessments using both standardized and informal tools.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client.
- Support clients with a range of communication needs, including speech and language disorders, social communication challenges, cognitive-communication issues, swallowing disorders, and voice challenges.
- Collaborate closely with other professionals, including OTs, SLPs, and BCBAs, to provide whole-family care.
- Teach and coach families to carry over strategies beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in weekly professional development and monthly team meetings to grow professionally and stay connected.
- Provide occasional educational programming in the community to promote best practices and raise awareness.
What You Bring to the Team
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Registered and in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP).
- Experience working with children and adults, including those with complex needs.
- A strong foundation in evaluating and treating communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
- Interest or experience in supporting neurodivergent populations and using a trauma-informed approach.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Computer literacy and willingness to learn tools like JaneApp.
- A valid drivers license, clear Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry.
Bonus skills: Fluency in French, Arabic, or Cantonese to better serve our diverse community.
