Starting Salary: $38.00 - $45.00/hour
The Opportunity:
Working at Parkland's Burnaby Terminal, this position is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, assembly, and installation of machinery at Terminal facilities and Terminal loading racks. This position also requires a working knowledge of some computer software programs like Excel, Word, and Outlook. This position will also provide support for driver badging, site orientations, and tank equipment inspections. This position also requires some afterhours and weekend on-call duties for the loading rack and terminal facility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day safe, efficient, and environmentally sound equipment maintenance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, repair and follow-up on process issues.
- Complete preventative maintenance and environmental inspections.
- Complete Permit to Work with Contractors for Maintenance and Projects
- Participate in Terminal Projects when required as Permit Issuer/Labourer.
- Conduct QA/QC Sampling on products as required.
- Follow/Maintain/Create Procedures as required
- Daily Volume Reconciliation Reporting; Daily, Weekly, Monthly Reporting on additive and other products.
- Updating the PM requirements.
- Training on the financial system for procurement/expense requirements.
- Coordinating on-site contractors.
- Sharing the On-call duties (afterhours support) for the terminal loading facility.
Requirements:
- A strong commitment towards Safety and Safe Work Practice.
- A strong commitment towards Emergency Response.
- Able to work independently with strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve effectively.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Possesses a curiosity and a desire to learn and grow by doing other job tasks.
- Experience working in the Petroleum Industry is preferred.
- An ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work culture.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- A commitment to high performance and a drive to continuously improve.
- Perform effectively under conditions of a fluctuating workload with frequent changes and competing demands.
- Must be physically able to work in all Terminal operating areas, including confined spaces, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Able to work after-hours, weekends, and shift work when needed.
- Class 5 Driver Licence, Clean Abstract.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude and abilities.
- Able to pass a criminal records check.
- Must be able to operate a forklift or mobile platform.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position and must be able to pass all pre-employment testing requirements.
- Perform all maintenance operations of the facility and loading rack equipment.
- Plan and initiate preventative maintenance, schedule corrective maintenance, and prioritize repairs to a wide variety of equipment to minimize downtime and improve efficiencies.
- Ability to lift up to 30 kg and have no physical limitations that would prevent working in, around, under and above machinery.
- Ability to travel and work out of town (Vancouver Island) for short periods.
