Furcon is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual to join our growing team as a Construction Worker on our Reinstatement team. This is an exciting role for anyone who has knowledge and experience in construction work, with opportunities for career advancement within Furcon.

This is a full-time, permanent position paying a wage of$26-$35/hour. The role offers competitive payment. benefits and overtime opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• General contracting work in various settings, including hospitals and schools
• Drywall installation and finishing (taping)
• Framing
• Ceiling grid (t-bar) installation
• Demolition and waste removal
• Construction of hoarding and enclosures
• Painting
• Clean-up and teardown
  
• Ensuring all health and safety practices are followed
  
• Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) experience (considered a strong asset)
• Other construction duties, as required

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma (preferred) or higher

Employment Experience

• 5+ year(s) construction work experience
• Experience with framing
• Experience with drywall installation
• Experience with taping/drywall finishing work
  
• Experience with blueprint reading considered an asset, but not mandatory.
  

Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of and experience in the construction industry
• Good work ethic, highly motivated
• Punctual and reliable
• Personable, able to work well in a team
• Able to perform physical labour such as lifting, walking, and carrying objects

Other Requirements

• Valid G-Class drivers license
• Moderate fluency in spoken English
• Double Covid-19 vaccinations (due to hospital work)

Compensation
