Job Summary: The Program Facilitator is a member of the Group Services Team with a special focus on delivering and supporting public programs, special events and visitor experience. The position entails the utilization of leadership, customer service and communication skills to enhance visitor experience. This part-time position will work a variety of shift including evenings, weekends and daysup to 37.5 hours per week, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all visitors and promote FortWhyte Alives attractions, activities, programs and events
- Provide high quality customer service to ensure positive visitor experiences
- Responsible for opening and closing the facilities and the main property gates
- Foster positive relationships with a variety of volunteers
- Facilitate equipment rentals for guests, ensure that equipment is returned and stored properly
- Deliver public programs including assembling supplies, adhering to schedules and supporting volunteers as needed
- Proactively engage with visitors, offering assistance and answering questions
- Monitoring onsite fishing and provide feedback on site regulations
- Check in with self-lead programming to offer guidance or assistance where needed
- Stay in regular contact with other staff members and volunteers onsite and offer support where needed
- Gather feedback from visitors and provide to your direct supervisor
- Report any health and safety or maintenance issues
- Identify areas for improvement in accessibility and visitor experience

Qualifications:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to FortWhyte Alives Mission and Mandate
- Experience working with varied groups including children, youth, families, etc.
- Self-starter with team player qualities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Appreciation of outdoor activities (paddling, hiking, biking)
- Satisfactory child abuse registry and criminal records check
Certification in First Aid and CPR, is an asset
