As a Seniors Navigator you will assist low-income higher needs older adults with access to information, resources and municipal, provincial and federal government benefits. This is a new program in our community, and you will be at the helm! Building and overseeing a team of volunteers for program delivery, you'll provide non-medical support to enhance the health and well-being of older adults. From directing to the appropriate service and programs contacts, to helping with completing applications and directing seniors' concerns to the appropriate avenue, your experience and interpersonal skills will make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors and their families. You will promote awareness of the services and programs for seniors. Training will be provided.
You are:

- Proficient in using digital tools for support, navigation, organization, and connection
- Organized and have excellent time management abilities
- You are trust-worthy, passionate about senior's wellness, and able to work independently
- You are understanding of local cultures and accepting of differences
- You are committed to improved wellness outcomes for older adults.
You have:
- A bachelor's degree in social service or related Human Services field, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of seniors' issues and challenges related to healthy aging
- Familiarity with local support systems and community resources
- Experience with program development and grant writing
- Minimum two (2) years of recent experience working with seniors and diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interpret human behaviour
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including completing reporting, follow-ups and evaluations.
- A valid class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Experience working with a team of volunteers

Requirements for Ongoing Employment:

- A valid WCB-approved First Aid Certificate (OFA Level 1)
