Children and Family Support, Program Coordinator-1
Job Summary: The Program Coordinator 1 at the South End Children and Family Support program will oversee the program under the direction of the Program Coordinator2 of the Children and Family Support Program. The Program Coordinator 1 will work on an individual and team level to support the quality of life of the individuals we serve by ensuring that their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs are met. The Program Coordinator1 participates as part of the team responsible for implementing all aspects of the participants Children and Family Support Programing, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy.
Reports To: Program Coordinator 2, Childrens Family Support Team
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and implements activities based on individual service plans. Creates and distributes monthly schedules
- Oversees the day to day operation of the program by liaising with coordinator, staff and families
- Orients, trains, monitors and provides support to program staff and volunteer
- Makes recommendations to the Coordinator regarding program developments and program and staff evaluations
- Liaises with families and other stakeholders to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals and registrations and represent the organization in external events
- Maintains current and confidential client records, statistics and other reports as required.
- Liaises with the community to promote community involvement.
- Identifies the physical needs of the program to the Coordinator. Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, repair of the program facility. Maintains supply inventory.
- Assists in developing and then meeting the operating budget
- Performs other related duties as required
- Assist clients with the activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts, transfers, hygiene, grooming and toileting. This may include transfer of function duties such as gastrostomy feeding, tracheostomy managements, and suction and bowel management
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate recreational, social, and educational activities
- Activities may require a moderate (higher than other day positions) level of physical fitness
- Administer medication in accordance with established practices and instructions
- Provide behavioural intervention and support for clients
- Identify services in the community that will meet clients needs
- Accompany and/or transport clients to activities
- Recognize, analyze and deal with potential emergency situations
- Review and provide feedback and support to clients and/or their families and liaise with clients families and other service providers as required
- Ensure that CCS Mission Statement and all policies are maintained especially the clients right to choice, confidentiality, and privacy.
- Provide leadership to part time staff and clients and maintain high standards of teamwork
Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience
- Diploma in Human Services, e.g.. Child and Youth Care
- 2 years experience working with children and youth with Support Needs
- Experience coordinating small teams
- Valid WCB approved First Aid and CPR certification
- Food Safety Certification
- Basic computer skills preferably experience with Microsoft Office
- Class 4 drivers license and own vehicle

Please Note:
- The successful candidate will begin employment at South End CFS Program Monday to Friday 14:30-17:30
- *The CFS program schedule flexes with the school calendar. Program is closed on stats and for two weeks during the school year. The CFS staff will work 30 hours/week for 9 weeks during July and August to cover summer programming and an additional 2 weeks to cover spring break
- This position is open to all qualified staff and requires Union membership
- Applicants may request that a Union observer sit on the selection committee in the capacity of a disinterested party

- Successful applicant must acquire Class 4 Unrestricted drivers license in order to pass the three month trial period
