Averton is an experienced and award-winning homebuilder, community developer and construction management company and were looking to add a Site Manager to our Construction team!
As the Site Manager you will be responsible for construction sites running effectively with respect to build cycles, cleanliness, safety adherence and trade partner relationships as well as the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure all aspects of the site are running as effectively as possible
- Ensure overall project site cleanliness by coordinating Site Assistant, subcontractors, materials, and waste in an effective manner
- Resolve onsite problems and coordinate any revisions required to base plans and budgets back to Project Manager
- Coordinate, schedule, control and supervise all onsite activities to ensure timelines are met and budgets are controlled
- Utilize Newstar Onlocation to access documents and keep construction schedules up to date daily to ensure reporting is as effective as possible
- Ensure all homes are handed over to service and warranty deficiency free
- Provide an elevated level of service to homeowners during construction walk throughs and possessions
- Provide schedule reports on a regular basis to Project Management for all onsite activities
- Participate in weekly construction meetings and monthly general meetings as required
- Coordinate and run onsite toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and contractor kick off meetings as required
- Ensure proper site-specific safety orientation is completed for all new site-specific contractors
- Actively participate in safety program to ensure all aspects of Averton are functioning at the highest level of safety standards
- Complete site walk throughs on a regular basis to ensure site cleanliness and to keep onsite actuals aligned with the preconstruction plan, job specific contract documents, and budget
- Ensure site determined costs are within budgets provided
QUALIFICATIONS
Must Haves:
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a supervisory position in residential construction
- A valid drivers license
- Clean driver's abstract
- Advanced knowledge of current Alberta Building Code
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and stay composed while working under pressure, leading by example, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism
- Proficiency with construction drawings, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project andstrong writing/communication skills
- Demonstrated skills with planning, organization, and the ability to multitask, as well as leadership and supervisory skills
Assets:
- Current and valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Safety specific training such as NCSO, LSE, HSA, CSTS, or HSR
- Post-secondary education in construction, trades, or a related discipline is an asset
- Red Seal Carpentry Ticket in Framing
