Job Title: Service and Warranty Technician

Job Summary:
The Service and Warranty Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving warranty-related concerns for homeowners while representing the company in a professional and customer-focused manner. This role requires strong problem-solving skills to address issues efficiently while balancing the interests of suppliers, the company, and homeowners. The technician will use technology, communication, and hands-on repair skills to ensure timely resolutions and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, assess, and resolve warranty claims from homeowners, ensuring accurate diagnosis of issues and determination of liability.
  • Perform general repairs, including carpentry and other handyman tasks.
  • Effectively communicate solutions through writing, speaking, and online video.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, warranty claims, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with trade partners, suppliers, and Service and Warranty Team members to ensure timely completion of outstanding deficiencies.
  • Provide root cause analysis and corrective feedback to improve product quality and reduce future warranty claims.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Work independently while effectively collaborating with team members and management.
  • Utilize multiple online programs and apps in a paperless environment for documentation and scheduling.
  • Perform quality control duties, reporting findings to builders and management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of local construction practices and materials.
  • Carpentry skills, with proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and other home repair areas.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft 365 applications and various proprietary software.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
