Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 annually before tax

Position: Trendy Toy Designer
Reports to: Trendy Toy Design Manager in Lead Facility
Hiring Level: Experienced

Contract Type: Permanent with 3-month probation

Current Location:5 East 8th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5T 1R6 (fully on-site)

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the entire design process of trendy toys and figurinesfrom concept development to final design refinements. Independently deliver creative designs for original IP series, drawing insights from market trends and user preferences to craft iconic and collectible products.
- Understand different materials (e.g., PVC, resin, vinyl) and the end-to-end toy manufacturing process. Consider feasibility and cost during the design phase to ensure smooth production.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and engineering to ensure color accuracy and model quality for visual excellence.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or above in Visual Communication, Product Design, Fine Arts or related fields, with 3+ years of experience in related product design.
  • Strong foundation in illustration and sketching, excellent sense of color and aesthetics. Proficiency in 3D software (e.g., ZBrush, Cinema 4D) is a strong plus.
  • Strong product thinking, trend sensitivity, and creativity. Familiar with the market trends of designer toys and collectibles.
  • Familiarity with toy production processes and relevant design tools/software.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.
